PRIVACY POLICY
Your tank stays yours.
Last updated 1 October 2026
My Tiny Tank doesn't collect any personal data. Your fish, their names and everything else about your tank stay on your Apple Watch. Nothing about your tank is sent to me or to anyone else.
This policy covers the My Tiny Tank app for Apple Watch and this website, mytinytank.app. Both are made by David Capp, an independent developer based in England, who is responsible for your data under UK data protection law. You can reach me at support@mytinytank.app.
The app
- No accounts. You never sign up or sign in.
- No internet connection. The app has no online features. It doesn't send or receive anything over the internet.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking. There's no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code in the app.
- Your tank stays on your Watch. The app saves your tank on your Apple Watch: your fish, the names you give them and the days they hatched, your decorations, your Coral Coins and your settings, plus a small summary of the tank for watch-face features. I can't see any of it, and deleting the app deletes it.
- The fish brain runs on your Watch. The AI model that chooses what your fish do is built into the app and runs entirely on your Apple Watch.
- Reminders are made on your Watch. If you allow notifications, the app schedules a gentle reminder on your Watch for when your fish are likely to be hungry. No notification server is involved. You can turn notifications off at any time in the Watch app on your iPhone, or in Settings on your Apple Watch.
What Apple may share with me
The App Store and TestFlight are run by Apple, and Apple's privacy policy covers what Apple collects.
- Crash reports and app statistics. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (on your iPhone: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with me. They don't identify you to me, and I use them only to find and fix problems.
- Testing. If you test early versions through TestFlight, Apple shares the feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send. If I invited you by email, I'll also have the name and email address used for the invitation. I use these only to improve the app.
- Payments. If you buy the app, Apple handles the payment. I never see your payment details.
This website
- No cookies, analytics, advertising or sign-up forms.
- The company that hosts the site processes standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the pages and keep the site secure.
- The site uses fonts already on your device and loads nothing from other companies.
If you email me
If you contact me, I'll use your email address and what you send only to reply and help you, and I'll delete it once it's no longer needed. My lawful basis is my legitimate interest in answering you.
Children
The app doesn't collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, and the EU GDPR where it applies, you have the right to ask for a copy of personal data held about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. The app doesn't collect personal data, so I don't hold any about you from it. If you've emailed me, you can ask for a copy of that correspondence or ask me to delete it. If you're unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example because the app gains a feature that uses data, I'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
